Seasonal services at Waseley Hills Crematorium

Waseley Hills Cemetery & Crematorium is issuing an open invitation to local people to visit and take part in its annual Christmas Carol and Memorial Services.

The seasonal services take place on Tuesday 3 December at 6.30pm and Wednesday 4 December at 10.30am, providing valuable opportunities for families and friends to come together and remember their loved ones in the run up to Christmas, a time when people can particularly feel their losses.

The services will include a selection of readings and popular Christmas Carols, in the company of a local choir. Refreshments will be available.

They are free to attend but in order to help the crematorium manage numbers, those intending to be part for either service are being asked to email waseleyhills@westerleighgroup.co.uk or call 0121 387 0710 to secure your seat.

Waseley Hills Cemetery & Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, one of the UK’s largest independent owners and operators of crematoria and cemeteries, with 40 sites across England, Scotland and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide peaceful places for people to visit and reflect.

Manager Claire Montague said: “Our annual Christmas Carol and Memorial Services are a lovely and meaningful way to bring people together to reflect and honour their loved ones during the festive season.

“Visitors to the event will be able write messages on memory tags which will be hung on our Christmas tree and can also place Christmas cards into our Letters to Heaven memorial post box.

“We hope that everyone who joins us will find comfort in being able to pay tribute to their loved one during the services whilst being in the company of other people who are in a similar situation.

“Our Christmas Carol and Memorial Services are open for anyone and everyone who lives, works or who is visiting the communities surrounding our crematorium in leading up to Christmas. Everyone is welcome.

“Those who are unable to attend in person, but who wish to view either service as a live stream, can do so through Westerleigh Group’s multimedia partner Obitus.

“Just visit https://christmas.obitus.com/, enter the username ‘waseleyhills’ and the password ‘sleigh' for the 3 December service, and the username ‘waseleyhills1’ and password ‘sleigh’ for the 4 December event.

“For those not able to watch it live, or those who attend but who would like to see it again, the services will be available to view online as ‘watch again’ options, using the same username and password details as above, from Friday 6 December, for 28 days, so nobody has to miss out.”
