Remembrance Day at Waseley Hills Crematorium

Waseley Hills Crematorium is opening its chapel on Friday 11 November for a period of quiet reflection as mark of respect for Remembrance Day.

The chapel will be open to everyone between 10.30am and 12.30pm, with a two-minute silence being observed at 11am.

Light refreshments will be available and visitors will also be able to buy poppies in support of the Royal British Legion.

Waseley Hills Crematorium is part of Westerleigh Group, the UK’s largest owner and operator of crematoria and cemeteries, with 37 sites in England, Scotland, and Wales, all set within beautifully landscaped gardens of remembrance which provide pleasant, tranquil places for people to visit and reflect.

Site Manager Joy Edgington said: “Remembrance Day is a time when so many people pause to think about all those who have made the ultimate sacrifice for their country.

“Our peaceful and tranquil site is a fitting place for people to visit and make their own remembrance.

“We wanted to do something to mark Remembrance Day as part of our continuing efforts to play a positive role in local community life and to engage with the people who live in the area surrounding our beautiful site.”
